Shobu Aikido of the Berkshires founded in 1997 by Sensei Satoru Sato in Great Barrington, MA. A spacious 1,500 Sq ft. area of artistic Japanese Zen style environment. Safe soft tatami mats flooring for practice and comfortable gathering area for viewing.
Facilities include changing rooms, bathroom and shower room. Safe and convenient parking available.
Sato Sensei 6th Dan, studied Aikido with William Gleason Sensei from 1985 to 1996 at Shobu Aikido of Boston. In 1993, Sato Sensei returned to Japan for six months to study with Takeda Sensei at Shonan Aikido Kenkyu Kai.
Angel Espinoza 2nd Dan, is the most senior student at the dojo, and has been practicing for more than ten years under Sato Sensei.
Aikido is a martial art which was created by Morihei Ueshiba (1883-1967). Aikido training purifies the body, mind and spirit.
